Individual Registration
- All students and alumni of the co-organising universities and institutions are welcome to join
- Register and create a profile

Form My Team
- After creating a profile, you gain access to the Team Matchmaking Platform
- You can start a team and recruit members, or join existing teams on the Platform
- Your team should compete in 1 of the 3 groups below:

Student Group
- The core team must be current full-time undergraduate and postgraduate students from the co-organising universities and institutions (students from higher diploma programmes from Vocational Training Council are welcome to join)
- Each team must include 2 - 6 members. Solo entries are not permitted
- Faculty advisors are allowed, but not as core project members & directors
- No prior funding from HKSTP Ideation and/ or Incubation

Open Group
- The core team must be students and/ or alumni from the co-organising universities and institutions (students from higher diploma programmes from Vocational Training Council are welcome to join)
- Each team must include 2 - 6 members. Solo entries are not permitted
- The submitted projects that are / were under the support from HKSTP Ideation and/ or Incubation

NEW Tech FYP Group
- Only available in Final Submission
- Science, engineering or ICT final year/ capstone projects with market and commercialization potentials to become startup ventures proposed by current full-time final year undergraduate and postgraduate students from the co-organizing universities and institutions (students from higher diploma programmes from Vocational Training Council are welcome to join)
- The submitted project can be conducted by individual student or in a group of no more than 6 students. Student/s must provide the academic supervisor/s of your corresponding projects
- No prior funding from HKSTP Ideation and/ or Incubation

Create a Project
- Select a team leader, select one of the following themes:
- Trusted AI & Data Science (AI, Blockchain)
- Sustainability & ESG (Green Tech, Health Tech, Advanced Materials)
- Life Science & Healthcare (Health Tech, Diagnostic, Therapeutic, Medical Device or other biomedical areas)
- Digital Economy & Smart City (ArtTech, EdTech, FinTech, Advanced Manufacturing, Autonomous Robotics / Systems)
- Create a project pitch deck (5-10 pages in PDF, appendix pages excluded)

Semi-Pitch – Secure your spot to the Finale!
- Team formation and pitch deck submission deadline: October 26, 2025 at 23:59
- A chance to pitch and get valuable insights from judges, mentors and industry pros to advance your project

- Selected teams by the judging panels of Semi-Pitch will earn a Fast-track Ticket as Finalist Teams to the Finale of Hong Kong Techathon+ 10th Edition with the same projects and core team members (i.e. The teams can recruit new team members after the Semi-Pitch)
- Alternatively, teams may abort the projects/ formed teams in Semi-Pitch and replace with/ advances into new projects/ teams for Final Submission (i.e. Shortlisting & assessment apply in such circumstances)

Final Submission – Final chance to join the Finale!
- Team formation and pitch deck submission deadline: January 6, 2026 at 23:59
- Team can still submit your project at the Final Submission if you haven’t joined the Semi-Pitch
- Shortlisted teams will be notified by January 16, 2026 via portal notification email. Team leaders shall confirm your team’s participation to the Finale of Hong Kong Techathon+ by responding to the Techathon+ team formation portal
- Teams that have been offered with fast-track tickets at the Semi-Pitch could be excluded from the Final Submission and shall go straight to the Finale of Hong Kong Techathon+ 10th Edition
- All Finalist Teams will be required to join the Finale of Hong Kong Techathon+ 10th Edition at Hong Kong Science Park scheduled for January 21-24, 2026
